Your AI Content Has a People Problem

Where Human Input Earns Its Keep

In practice, keeping humans meaningfully in the loop tends to show up in a few key areas.

 Voice and personality. AI is good at generating content. It's less reliable at generating your content. Brand voice, humor, the specific way you talk to your customers versus your team versus your board, these things require someone who actually knows the difference and can catch when AI has drifted into "corporate newsletter" territory.

 Tone for sensitive contexts. Anything that touches people's emotions, their jobs, their growth, their sense of belonging, needs a human read. Not to soften hard messages, but to make sure the tone matches what the moment actually calls for. There's a big difference between clear and cold.

Accountability. When content is AI-assisted and human-reviewed, and you say so, something interesting happens: it often builds trust rather than undermining it. Transparency about your process signals integrity. The note "AI-assisted, human-refined" isn't a disclaimer. It's a credibility marker.

 What This Looks Like in Practice

For small teams, none of this requires a formal review committee or a lengthy approval workflow. It mostly requires deciding up front which content genuinely needs human hands on it, and which doesn't.

 Routine logistics? Fine to let AI carry more weight.

 Anything that's supposed to make a person feel seen, valued, or confident in your leadership? Nope, not okay. A human needs to be doing more than spell-checking.

 The goal isn't to limit what AI can do. It's to be deliberate about where your judgment, your voice, and your accountability add something AI simply can't replicate.

 Because at the end of the day, the content that builds trust, real trust, isn't just accurate. It's human. And that part is still on us.
